Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AI Business Name Maker ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use our website (the "Service"). AI Business Name Maker is a business name generator: you describe a business, we suggest names and check whether their .com domains are registered. You don't need an account to use it.
Information we collect
- What you enter in the generator: the industry, keywords, styles and length you choose, the name you ask for "more like this", and the names already on your screen (so Load more doesn't repeat them). We use them to write names and don't keep them after the request, except in short-lived server logs (see Retention).
- Domains we check: the .com addresses of the names we show you. We store each domain's status for up to a day, without anything that identifies you, so the same domain isn't looked up again.
- Your IP address: we use it to limit each visitor to 30 generations a day. We store a counter keyed to it for that day.
- Saved names: names you star are stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.
- Messages you send us by email, and the information in them.
- Technical information: your browser and device type, the pages you open, and error logs.
Only site administrators have accounts. If you're one, we also keep your email address and sign-in details.
How we use your information
- To write names and check domains when you ask.
- To keep the Service fast and fair: daily limits per IP address, caching and abuse prevention.
- To answer your messages.
- To measure which features and pages are used, and fix errors.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use what you enter to train AI models.
Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the Service, and only as much as each one needs:
- Cloudflare: hosts the website and the API.
- Neon: hosts our database, which holds the daily limit counters and the domain status cache.
- Our AI model provider: writes the names. By default this is Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (Qwen models). We send only what you enter in the generator, never your IP address or other identifiers. It may process this outside the United States.
- Verisign: we ask its public RDAP service whether each .com is registered. We send only the domain.
- PostHog: if analytics is on, measures page visits and generator actions such as generating names, loading more, saving a name and clicking a register, trademark or LLC link, with the industry when it's one of our listed industries. Events carry a random browser identifier, never what you type. The first page view of each visit also carries the referring site's address without its query and any
utm_campaign tags in the link. We do not enable session replay. - Sentry: if error monitoring is on, receives error reports so we can fix bugs.
- Google: when a site administrator signs in with Google, Google tells us their name, email address and profile picture.
We also share information when the law requires it.
Links to other sites
The register, trademark, social and LLC buttons open other websites, such as domain registrars, the USPTO and Instagram. We don't send them anything about you; when you open them, their own privacy policies apply. Some are affiliate links, which tell the other site that you came from us.
Cookies and local storage
- Local storage keeps the names you save, until you remove them or clear your browser.
- If analytics is on, local storage holds a random browser identifier for up to 30 days.
- A first-party cookie (
rs_ft) and local storage remember how you first reached the site, for 90 days: the referring site's address without its query, anyutm_campaign tags in the link, the page you landed on, your browser's language and the time. - Administrators who sign in get a session cookie.
We do not use advertising cookies.
Retention
- Daily limit counters: replaced each day.
- Domain statuses: kept for one day, then looked up again.
- Server logs: kept for a short time, usually up to 30 days, to fix errors and stop abuse. They may include the industry you entered.
- Emails you send us: kept as long as needed to answer and follow up.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to its use. Email support@aibusinessnamemaker.com. We reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The Service is for adults starting businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. If the changes are material, we will say so on the Service before they take effect.
